Together, our expert panelists answered how hospitality creators can leverage olfactory design (and technology) in placemaking to create a powerful sense of place and positively impact the people within them.

*Building on this year's HIX theme — A Sense of Place — “A Scent of Place” offers a unique olfactory experience exploring the powerful role of scent in shaping our perception and connection to place.
Produced by STUDIO SKOV in partnership with algorithmic perfumery, EveryHuman, the A Scent of Place installation featured two original scents inspired by distinct places within the city of London for HIX attendees to experience and interact with. Attendees were given the opportunity to smell and reflect on their personal perceptions of the two scents of London, answering the question : “Where does this scent take you?...”
Additionally, attendees were provided the opportunity to create their own personalized scent of London using Every Human’s AI-powered fragrance machine to take home (to keep the memory alive).
